Last week’s blog about my battle with skinny jeans was one of my all-time favorites to write.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it too, and took the time to share your similar battles with me.
LOVE you for that!
This week I’m excited to announce that there is a NEW GUY in my life…
His name is Miles, and I met him because I sat in a folding chair across from him at a 5-week comedy acting class I signed up for in order to stretch my introverted self out of my comfort zone.
Miles was in class sitting across from me because his Mom signed him up.
Miles at 14 is just a kid in my eyes, but I can see (like the broad side of a barn) that he is an unusual sort of person with amazing potential.
You know how sometimes you meet someone and they just have that certain something about them that tells you they’re special?
Miles radiates that.
Poor Miles still hasn’t had his big growth spurt yet and kids at school often make fun of him for being short.
He shared with me that he’s learned how to laugh through it...maybe he’ll need therapy someday, but I doubt it.
I have a hunch that when Miles grows up he’s going to use those tough moments from when he didn’t fit in as a kid as an asset that catapults him into a life way outside the ordinary.
I knew from the moment I laid eyes on him that this kid is special.
When I was a kid Miles’s age, I was a bright student who finished assignments so fast that I often found myself with extra time on my hands during class.
One of my favorite things to do with that extra time was to look around the room and think of a list of reason to fall in love with each boy in class.
Sounds crazy, right?
I’m not saying I DID fall in love with each of them, but I enjoyed contemplating what was special and could be lovable about even the most socially awkward or unappealing among my classmates.
There wasn’t a single boy in the room I couldn’t see something special in.
It was just a silly game I made up, (kind of like my YES! Tuesday game that has caught on in more than one country) but little did I know how this skill would come to serve me as I created The Purse Process® and became a mentor to women who are breaking free of a life that doesn’t seem to fit quite right.
Sometimes the people trying desperately to just get by and fit in are the ones who are simply destined to stand out.
They are special.
Some of us suspect that we’re special, but are waiting on someone, ANYONE, to recognize what is special about us and guide us in using our unique qualities.
Frankly, being special and not doing something with that energy can feel like dying real slow.
Every once in a while I have a conversation with a woman who needs someone to recognize her special qualities and to point the way to using them.
If you suspect you’re special like Miles, schedule a Clarity Call with me today.
You special qualities are your greatest assets and with the right guidance, you can tailor your life or business around them, but first you have to recognize them. I can help you with that.
With clarity and the right guidance, in six months’ time your life could be completely unrecognizable. If that prospect is more terrifying than thrilling, a Clarity Call isn’t for you.
I’ll let you know how things with Miles and I progress at acting class, and you’ll be the first to know if we get offered our own sitcom. I wouldn’t hold my breath on my behalf if I were you. 🙂
Until next week,
