I miss my mom.
She was here visiting last weekend and I had to drop her off at the airport Monday evening.
And here we are laughing our butts off together at lunch just before heading to the airport.
You’ll never guess what we were laughing about.
Even if you and I played 20 questions 20 times in a row, you’d still never guess because the two of us were laughing at an inside joke.
Do you have inside jokes with the people you love, too?
You know, a certain word or phrase that instantly takes you back to a funny moment in time that you could not possibly explain why it’s so funny now because you just had to be there and you always dissolve into fits of laughter?
Well, we were laughing together over one of those types of things, and I would totally try to explain it to you here, except you’d probably just think we’re weird.
Anyway, as you might have guessed, my mom and I have a great time hanging out together and it was the perfect time for her to visit because I’ve had a lot on my mind lately.
Between moving to a new city, boys! dating! and working to perform a pivot in my business, I sometimes find myself feeling overwhelmed and even directionless.
It was so great to have my mom here to talk all these subjects through, and I feel like I have a much better handle on what I need to do next.
My life isn’t perfect and all my problems are not solved, but I sure am one lucky girl because I have so many amazing people who love and support me no matter what I do, and I could not be more grateful.
Before I sign off there is one more thing I want to say.
I can barely believe it, but it has been almost one year since I began writing my daily Notes to Self and began posting many of them for my friends to read on my personal Facebook page.
Soon I will be releasing the year-long collection as an inspirational e-Book.
It feels a little weird to be putting my Notes to Self out there to anyone and everyone like this since they chronicle the self-talk I used to encourage myself to get through hard times. Maybe it will be fun, however, to have my first little eBook out there, and who knows where that might lead?
Feel free to drop me a line anytime. I ALWAYS love seeing your name pop up in my inbox and hearing what you are up to.
Until next week,
Adventure on!
