The most absorbing subject occupying my mind this past week?
Shoes may not seem like the type of thing I should be focusing my attention on right now, but I disagree.
For a girly girl like me, choosing just the right pair of shoes is a BIG part of Loving The Journey to the TEDx experience, and really, the journey is 99% of any experience.
My time on the TEDx stage will be over in 18 minutes or less.
But, the EXPERIENCE leading up to stepping into that coveted spotlight will be with me forever.
The feeling of exhilaration upon finding the right pair of shoes is just one experience that (for me) turns a peak experience into an amazing journey.
One of the ideologies I live by is that
we’re meant to enjoy the heck out of our journey.
We’re each born with the freedom to create a journey we love, but somewhere along the way, we pick up a different idea that leaves us feeling less than free.
One of the ideologies that a lot of the women I work with come to me believing is that the really amazing moments are reserved for other people.
Only other people have ideas worth sharing, only other people are selected for a moment in the TEDx spotlight, only other people achieve breakout success when their talk goes viral.
But, the belief that good stuff is only reserved for other people is a lie!
The people who get the good stuff
are the ones who reach for it and nobody else.
In fact, the people you see who are really getting the good stuff are Creating a JOURNEY they LOVE, not just a single moment in the spotlight or peak experience.
So, what kind of experience are you creating for yourself?
Until next week,
