Last week it was SO GREAT reading your emails telling me that I’m not the only FIERCE OVERACHIEVER out there who feels anxiety, exhaustion, and mental fog when she’s actually BORED.
It means so much to me to know I’m NOT ALONE!
To say that a FIERCE OVERACHIEVER needs to be constantly ACHIEVING SOMETHING is stating the obvious.
HOWEVER, what might not be as obvious, is WHY and how valuable this is in the LIVES of OTHERS around her.
WHY does a fierce overachiever need to be ACHIEVING?
Well, because as far as I can tell, ACCOMPLISHMENT is where she draws her ENERGY from.
HOW does this contribute to others?
It SAVES HER RELATIONSHIPS by keeping her HAPPY!
Because when she’s UNHAPPY (or not having fun) you know what happens, right?
She develops a pet project.
The usual target being those LAZY FAMILY AND FRIENDS who need to get up off their butts and DO SOMETHING in their own lives (and no one likes that girl).
This week this fierce overachiever had so much fun ACCOMPLISHING becoming belay certified at my local rock climbing gym!
You HAVE NOTICED that not everyone is as SELF-MOTIVATED TO STRETCH THEMSELVES and try new things as you are, haven’t you?
In fact, without seeing what you are up to, most would just go on with their mundane lives doing what everyone else is doing (not much).
Alive…but not REALLY LIVING LIFE.
Those who were not born fierce overachievers need to SEE YOU out there DOING AND WINNING in order to be INSPIRED to DO SOMETHING more with their life.
Without you LEADING THE WAY, those with less driven personalities are ruled by laziness and fear of failure.
LAZINESS and FEAR of failure are what STOPS THEM from living life.
But NOT YOU.
You are capable of more (way more) than the average Joe or Jane, and you’re positively DRIVEN to do more and SUCCEED.
Unlike the rest, fear of failure SPURS YOU ON rather than stopping you in your tracks.
If a FIERCE OVERACHIEVER feels like she’s going to fail, she REDOUBLES her EFFORTS and MAKES THINGS HAPPEN.
She does this because FAILURE FEELS PERMANENT to her.
Like HERO to ZERO (with NO SECOND CHANCES).
She will WIN at ALL COSTS.
But you know something?
Being a FIERCE OVERACHIEVER can be ISOLATING too.
Why?
Because she CAN’T TELL ANYONE when she feels, hurt, angry, trapped, or unsure of herself.
It’s not that she doesn’t want help or reassurance.
It’s just that she feels like NO ONE GETS IT and there is NO SAFE PLACE TO TELL THE TRUTH and RECEIVE ENCOURAGEMENT.
And she’s RIGHT.
No one around her gets it… not even the people closest to her (ESPECIALLY them). When she does let something out, others respond by making it ALL ABOUT THEM (when it has nothing to do with them!).
She NEEDS ENCOURAGEMENT, but the truth is often TOO MUCH for others to hear…they end up with hurt feelings or offering well-meant criticism instead of becoming an encouraging teammate.
So what’s a FIERCE OVERACHIEVER to do?
If you need a teammate, someone you can truthfully talk to about that FEARFUL SECRET or raging EMOTIONAL STORM you’ve been keeping BOTTLED UP inside and receive ENCOURAGEMENT, book a call with me.
The call is free. We’ll talk and if you decide to become a private client, I’ll bring you the ENCOURAGEMENT and OUTSIDE PERSPECTIVE you need on a regular basis until this storm passes.
You’ll never have to worry about my feelings being hurt because what you are feeling has NOTHING TO DO WITH ME.
You’ll receive no platitudes, no annoyingly obvious suggestions about what you should do, and NO CRITICISM.
Just a sounding board to help YOU sort through and organize your thoughts so you can do what you know is right.
A FIERCE OVERACHIEVER is smart, and she probably already KNOWS WHAT SHE NEEDS TO DO.
I’m just here to REFLECT that BACK TO HER so she can HEAR HERSELF THINK and DECIDE for herself WHAT TO DO NEXT.
Wouldn’t it be a RELIEF to RELEASE SOME OF THAT PRESSURE that’s been building up inside? To know that there is one person WHO KNOWS the TRUTH and is rooting for you?
Here’s that link again to book some time on the phone with me. If the times don’t work just hit reply and we’ll schedule manually.
Let’s get some of this off your chest.
Until next week,
Adventure on!
