Women often ask me where the Purse Process™ Pursonalities came from. Well, as I’ve written about before, I created them through research but each also has an element of me in there. In fact, I like to think of these gals as my daughters.
Today I’m going to give you a little peek into how Perfect Priscilla was conceived.
When I was very little the show Green Acres was in reruns on TV. I don’t remember a whole lot about the show, but I often hear the lyrics to the opening theme song running through my mind. If you’d like to listen to what I’m hearing, here’s a link.
What I do remember about the show was that the very cosmopolitan Eva Gabor had ended up living in the country with dirt and farm animals when she’d rather be shopping on Park Avenue in New York City. Of course at about 4 years old, I didn’t know what or where NYC was, but I identified with her longing to live somewhere a little more glamorous.
When I was little my family was poor and we lived at the end of a gravel road. For a kid like me it felt like there was nothing to do and I often found myself wandering around our yard bored and wishing I had a pile of dress up clothes and shoes to play with like my friend Amber who lived in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Recently while getting ready for an event and hearing the Green Acres song in my mind it hit me! This is where the part of me that went into the creation of Perfect Priscilla was conceived! The character Eva played was my inspiration for what a lady who wanted a bigger life acted like, dressed like, shopped for, and thought. WOW!
