Like you, my thoughts today are on whom and what I’m GRATEFUL for right now, and what lies ahead for 2016.
The latest thing I am grateful for is that the UNIVERSE sent me a PARTNER for dance class!!!
There is an older gentleman in the advanced class who came early last week and danced with me. We had a great time and he decided to come back for the rest of the sessions to be my partner!
How awesome is this? And all I had to do was show up and smile. 🙂
I do many different things in my business, but if I could teach only ONE thing for the rest of my life, it would be how to LOVE YOURSELF so much that you relentlessly RISE ABOVE circumstances so you never, ever wonder if you could have enjoyed your life more.
The thing is you don’t have to know HOW it is all going to work out. You just have to be willing to WORK for it.
Here’s a STORY about WORKING for it for ya.
Last week as I was leaving a local coffee shop, I noticed there was a man in his 50’s sitting at a table by the door.
He was wearing a nicely starched button up shirt that REMINDED me of something my husband would wear.
Now, normally when I see something that reminds me of my husband my first reaction is to feel SAD because I still miss the guy, regardless of our situation.
BUT on that day, this is NOT what happened!
When I saw the man in the shirt, my FIRST reaction was to SMILE and say,
“Wow! That’s a great shirt.”
To which he replied, “thank you” and SMILED back.
It was only AFTER I’d walked out the door that I realized WHY I liked the shirt and whom it reminded me of.
THIS IS PROGRESS!
The stages toward MASTERY (aka, taking control of your life) are:
and Unconscious Competence.
It took a great deal of mental discipline (daily working at noticing the good) to get there, but this situation showed me I’d made it to Unconscious Competence, aka a new level of MASTERY!
I hope this little story inspires you to focus on what is good and beautiful and on what you enjoy about life. I also hope it helps you let the stuff that doesn’t appear to be going so well take care of itself for a while.
As always, I am so grateful to you for being a reader. Feel free to email me directly, anytime.
A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Until next week,
